Intro to Scent Work - Buried & Handler Discrimination

Using their nose to explore the world is a natural and enriching behavior for all dogs. The sport of scent work turns a dog’s favorite activity into a rewarding game. It’s a fantastic sport for all kinds of dogs and is a wonderful way to build confidence in shy and reactive dogs. This class will start working on buried searches, as well as work on handler discrimination searches. 

Modeled after working detection dogs, this activity provides a safe and enriching scenario that can be done anywhere and builds a trusting relationship between dog and handler.

The concept of scent work is that all dogs should have the opportunity to participate and experience success.

All containers and birch will be provided.
